With so much going on around us, it’s easy for our hectic lives to take over at times. Bach® Original Flower Remedies help to balance your emotions and fulfil your potential. But what are Bach® flower essences?
The essences were developed more than 80 years ago by Dr. Edward Bach, a noted physician and homeopath, who believed that the key to good health was by emotional harmony. By 1936 he identified 38 flower essences, each one derived from a different wild flower, plant or tree, and each corresponding to a specific emotion.
Dr. Bach categorised the 38 essences in seven groupings. They are based on emotions. We have modernised the names to help make it easier:
COLOR | MODERN EMOTIONAL GROUP | TRADITIONAL EMOTIONAL GROUP |
Orange |
Face Your Fears |
Fear |
Yellow |
Know Your Mind |
Uncertainty |
Green |
Live the Day |
Insufficient interest in present circumstances |
Purple |
Reach Out to Others |
Loneliness |
Green |
Stand Your Ground |
Oversensitivity to influences and ideas |
Pink |
Find Joy & Hope |
Despondency and despair |
Blue |
Live & Let Live |
Overcare for the welfare of others |
Dr. Bach believed the complete system, which capture the positive potential of the plants they’re created from, offered a holistic approach to achieving emotional balance. The system is designed so that the essences can be tailored to meet each person’s individual needs; so that they can be taken individually, or in combination. You can explore which mix of essences is right for you using our Essence Chooser.
Bach® is the only maker authorized by The Bach Centre to use Dr. Bach’s signature, and the only flower essences sourced directly from his home in Mount Vernon.
