The History of Rescue®
Developed in 1936, the Rescue® blend is composed of 5 Bach® Original flowers which contribute to daily serenity for the whole family, in all circumstances.
History of Rescue Remedy®
Edward Bach developed the 38 Original Bach Flowers® between 1928 and 1935 in England. He moved to Mount Vernon in Oxfordshire to devote himself to research into the integration of nature into medicine. Edward Bach believed that the individual's state of mind and emotional well-being were the key to good health. He spent many years exploring the use of flowers and plants to develop his simple and gentle method of 38 flower essences, in Oxfordshire, England, where we continue to prepare the essences exactly as he did.
Nelsons® connection with Original Bach Flower Remedies® dates back to the 1930s and Edward Bach himself. With the growing demand for flower remedies, he called upon Nelsons' homeopathic pharmacy to help bottle and make them available to the public. When he died, his assistant Norah Weeks took over and this relationship continues. Nelsons® continues to grow and we now manufacture and distribute the flower remedies worldwide with the support of the Bach Centre.
The manufacture of Rescue®
Each Flower is hand picked by a Nelsons® employee from Edward Bach's garden, or nearby with the exception of Olive and Vine which are imported from Europe. The method and location of manufacture have remained the same since 1936.
Rescue® is still manufactured according to the original method developed by Edward Bach over 80 years ago and bears the Bach signature - a guarantee that our products are manufactured in accordance with this original method. Rescue® can be taken at the same time as any other flower from the 38 Original Bach® Flowers. Rescue® is composed of 5 Original Bach® Flowers which are:
