As an environmentally aware and socially responsible company, we recognise that Nelsons’ operations can impact the climate and communities. We specifically consider the legacy we are leaving for generations to come and place strong focus on the way in which we operate to ensure the enduring success of Nelsons.

We have in place a sustainability and community framework which embraces Nelsons’ mission of inspiring generations to live healthier, happier lives; and our vision of being a leading socially responsible natural healthcare group. We are dedicated to our consumers’ everyday health and wellness, through high quality, naturally inspired, global brands that deliver effective results in a gentle and safe way, for our consumers and everyone along our end-to-end supply chain.

Sustainability

Environment

Recognising the impact our operations have on natural resources, ecosystems, and climate, we integrate environmental considerations into our business operations and strategy. This includes focusing on initiatives involving resource efficiency; water, waste and packaging reduction; emission control; sustainable sourcing of packaging and ingredients; and product lifecycle management. By adopting environmentally responsible practices, we not only comply with applicable regulations but also strive to ensure that our operations contribute positively to the planet.

We are continuing to progress our packaging and ingredients’ sustainability ambitions, as well as maintaining our Carbon Neutral status. Additionally, we moved in 2023 to 100% renewable energy to power all our UK sites and are actively working towards eliminating single-use plastic through seeking sustainable alternatives. We share an alignment with our customers to drive a sustainable approach to business and to develop practices across packaging innovation trends to minimise the impact of our collective carbon footprint related to our operations. In addition, for items that we cannot yet change or fully control, we fully offset our carbon footprint through third-party organisations. This helps us mitigate our environmental impact while we continue to seek more sustainable solutions.

Business Practices and Ethical Sourcing

Our principal business relationships are with our suppliers, our customers, and our distributors. We seek to maintain positive and productive relationships with our, often long standing, partners so that raw materials, packaging, and services are efficiently and sustainably sourced and our products are responsibly and ethically marketed through a range of stores and online, in over 40 countries around the world. We are continuing to engage with key supplierson our ethical sourcing framework, including the implementation of our supplier ethical sourcing code to ensure partners embrace the standards of behaviour we expect across a range of important environmental, social and governance areas.

Community: Nelsons’ Collective

Nelsons is committed to inspiring, nurturing and sustaining a deep culture of inclusion and engagement. Nelsons’ Collective brings together key moments, conversations, and initiatives that matter to us all, ensuring that we continue to learn from each other, celebrate our achievements, and make a positive impact both inside and outside of Nelsons.

Nelsons’ Collective has 3 pillars:

1. We Give Back

We have a long tradition of supporting international charitable partners and donate an amount of our profits every year to make a positive impact to the world outside of Nelsons. Tied to our mission of inspiring generations to live healthier, happier lives, we support a range of international healthcare, social and environmental causes through both corporate and brand partnerships, including The Passage, The College of Medicine and The Rainforest Trust.

A strong community is built on care both for each other and the world around us. Giving Back is our way of making space for generosity, compassion, and collective impact. Every Nelsons’ employee receives a paid volunteering day, ensuring we can make a difference in ways that are personally meaningful:

  • Global volunteering programmes with our charitable partners, including The Passage and Royal Trinity Hospice; and
  • Fundraising & community impact, whether through corporate matching, Nelsons' Community Pot, or team-led initiatives

Giving back is about making sure we show up, not just for each other, but for the communities we live in and that support us all as individuals.

2. We Celebrate

Life is full of moments worth celebrating, and we want to make sure they don’t go unnoticed. This pillar is dedicated to recognising and honouring achievements, milestones and cultural awareness moments that shape our team and our world.

  • By celebrating key events (such as PRIDE month and International Women’s Day) we create space to learn and build experiences that enrich our culture and understanding; and
  • Global Townhalls: a space to celebrate and acknowledge achievements, share updates on Nelsons' Community, reflect on what we've achieved, and look ahead to what's next.

Celebration isn’t just about joy, it’s about acknowledgment, connection, and making sure everyone’s story is seen and valued.

3. We Gather

True belonging comes from shared experiences. We Gather is all about creating opportunities to connect, learn from one another and make Nelsons a place where connections can truly flourish.

  • Site & team events: including cultural celebrations, shared meals, and activities that bring us together in fun and meaningful ways
  • Lunch & Learns: exploring topics like mental health, well-being and neurodiversity, led by guest speakers.

We Gather is about staying connected, learning from each other, and making Nelsons a place where connections can truly flourish.
